Our story traces back to 2009 when Steve Perry and Steve Schlegel launched a not-for-profit service business focused on bringing “best practices” to benefit consumer products manufacturers of all sizes. PMMI, the leading trade association serving the needs of the consumer products industry, embraced this concept and fully funded the creation and support of the OpX Leadership Network.
The ultimate beneficiary of this effort is the consumer with cost-effective and consistently higher-quality and safer products. The manufacturing companies, large or small, also benefitted from sustainable performance improvements.
From a small beginning of 15 manufacturing company executives, the journey began towards developing more than 20 industry best practices written by industry subject matter experts that focused on providing guidance to common, non-competitive manufacturing challenges. The OpX Leadership Network has impacted nearly 1,000 companies (manufacturers and suppliers) and more than 5,000 industry practitioners.
In 2017, Perry and Schlegel, joined by Dan Sileo, launched the FSO Institute to support the efforts of companies seeking to implement those best practices.
FSO Institute is becoming known as “The Manufacturing Health People,” and universally recognized for enabling and empowering companies to advance their manufacturing health. Integral to this is to serve companies that are committed to developing talent and processes to accelerate performance and achieve lasting results. Regardless of the transformational need, at the core of the manufacturing challenge is engaging the workforce to fully adopt BOA (Buy-in, Ownership, Advocacy).
A well-recognized team of subject matter experts, with whom FSO has worked in the OpX Leadership Network, includes proven practitioners focused on facilitating these transformations and improving a company’s manufacturing health through its people, processes, and technologies.
The FSO Institute is dedicated to operational execution for Consumer Packaged Goods companies (CPGs). FSO coaches skillfully combine assessment tools, designed and built specifically for CPGs, with industry focused benchmarking data and robust networking opportunities.
Collectively, these tools are designed to help identify your company’s opportunities for improvement, take advantage of evolving best practices, transform your culture, and optimize operations to meet market demand.
